The Audioroot eSMART TINY-C is an ultra-compact smart battery charger that turns your USB-C PPS-compatible power supply or charger into a full-featured charger for your Audioroot eSMART Li-xxWh and NEO batteries. Small enough to disappear into a pouch, clever enough to charge at up to 4.0 amps — the TINY-C is the pocket-sized brain that sits between your USB-C power source and your battery.

What is USB-C PPS — and why is it so powerful?

PPS stands for Programmable Power Supply, one of the most advanced charging standards built into the USB Power Delivery (USB-PD 3.0) specification.

With a traditional charger, you can only pick from a handful of fixed voltage steps — 5 V, 9 V, 15 V, 20 V — and the charger decides the rest. PPS changes the rules: it allows the voltage and current to be adjusted in real time, in fine steps, while charging is in progress.

Why that matters for your batteries:

• Precise charging control — Instead of forcing the battery to fit a fixed voltage, PPS lets the charger deliver exactly the voltage the battery asks for, moment to moment. The charge profile follows the battery instead of the other way around.

• Real-time adjustment — As the battery fills up, the TINY-C continuously renegotiates the power it draws from the supply, matching the optimal charging current and voltage at every stage of the charge cycle.

• One standard, endless flexibility — A compliant USB-C PPS power supply can become your battery charger. Travel light: the same charger that tops up your laptop can top up your eSMART batteries.

In short: the USB-C PPS power supply does all the heavy lifting, and the TINY-C is the brain that controls it. The TINY-C monitors the battery's charging parameters and state of charge (SoC) in real time, telling the power supply exactly what the battery needs at every moment.

Charging to 80% instead of 100% dramatically reduces the stress on lithium battery cells, extending their usable lifespan. And when you fly, the 30% limit takes the guesswork out of airline compliance.

⚠️ Important note on the programmable charge limit

The TINY-C ⚡ only charges — it never discharges.
If your battery’s current SoC is already above your set limit (e.g., 60 % with a 30 % limit), the TINY-C will 🛑 stop charging immediately and will not lower the battery’s charge. The battery remains at its present level until used or charged again.
