The eSMART BG-DU is a compact, lightweight, and intelligent power distributor designed for demanding audio setups in large sound bags or compact location carts. Featuring 8 switchable, protected outputs , a real-time fuel gauge, and wide battery compatibility , it delivers reliable and efficient power management in the field.

Thanks to its integrated coulomb counter and advanced monitoring system, the BG-DU offers precise, real-time insight into battery status: remaining capacity (%), runtime estimation, voltage, current, and power consumption. It is fully compatible with all eSMART Li-XXwh and Li-neo smart batteries , enabling enhanced communication when used with the appropriate 4-wire input cable.

The eSMART BG-DU stands out as the only portable power distributor on the market equipped with a true coulomb counter and battery capacity learning routine. Unlike basic voltage-based monitoring systems, the BG-DU analyzes actual current flow over time to accurately learn and track the true capacity of any connected battery, even non-smart models (SLA, NiMH, or standard Li-Ion). This advanced approach allows the BG-DU to provide reliable runtime predictions and real-time state-of-charge monitoring, ensuring sound professionals can confidently manage power—even without using SMBus or smart battery technology.

The BG-DU-REG variant includes all the features of the standard BG-DU, with the addition of three regulated and isolated outputs—ideal for eliminating ground loop noise and powering sensitive wireless gear.

Additional regulated outputs:

• 2 x Isolated 12V / 12W outputs (via Hirose connectors) – helps resolve ground loop issues
• 1 x 9V / 18W output (via Hirose connectors) – suitable for wireless receivers/transmitter
• Compact and lightweight: (300g, 85×120×30mm)

⚠️ Important: Use the eHRS4-OUT-4W cable (sold separately) to enable full communication between a smart battery and BG-DU or BG-DU-REG. The standard 2-wire eHRS4-OUT cable will not support data transmission.

⚠️ Note for Hawk-Woods users: The wiring of Hawk-Woods products is incompatible with the BG-DU or BG-DU-REG out of box.  On these products the internal pins of the Hirose male plugs are tied together 2 by 2 : pins 1 and 2 / pins 3 and 4. When using the BG-DU or BG-DU-REG pins 2 and 3 of the male Hirose plug connected to the unit's input must be left unconnected as these are used for communication with smart batteries. Hawk-Woods users can solve this issue by rewiring the male Hirose plug (leaving pins 2 and 3 un-connected) or by removing 2 solder jumpers inside the BG-DU or BG-DU-REG. ⚠️ Max battery capacity: The BG-DU can handle standard (non smbus) batteries from other manufacturers up to 40Ah. A special version capable of handling batteries up to 200Ah can be delivered upon request.

⚠️ Max current draw: The BG-DU can easily and safely handle a total current draw of 5 Amps.
